Group Treatment and Support Options at OCGB

Adult OCD Treatment/Support Group

What:                Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and peer support for adults with OCD.  The group is led by Jon Hershfield, MFT.

When:              Every Monday 6:30pm-8:00pm

Who:                 Adults with OCD at any stage of treatment.

Goals:               Learn CBT tools to treat your OCD and reduce relapse.  Get support from others with OCD who understand.  Develop mindfulness skills for greater OCD mastery.

Fee:                   $50/session paid monthly ($200 for a 4-Monday month).  Sliding scale diagnostic assessment session required for non-OCGB clients.  Assessment not a guarantee of admission.  Group is ongoing, commitment is one month at a time.

Family Psychoeducation/Support Group

What: Psychoeducational support group for families members of OCD sufferers.  Parents and spouses welcomed.  Diagnosed child or spouse is not required to be in treatment.  The group is led by Molly Schiffer, LGPC.

When: Every alternate Tuesday at 6:00.

Cost: $160 per individual covers the 4-session commitment.

What to expect?

  • Psychoeducation on OCD and its treatment to foster a better understanding of what your loved one is going through
  • Support from peers who also love someone with OCD
  • Learn effective ways to support your loved one without accommodating
  • Learn coping and self-care techniques
